Erik Ashlin

Erik grew up in a small town in southwest Virginia and was eating trout before he was born. His father fished and hunted as an every day food source. Brook trout (mountain trout) was one of his fathers favorite fish to catch and bring home. At the age of three his father began to pass on the knowledge and love of fishing. Over the years Erik has steadily applied his fathers passion and mastered many techniques in the art of fly fishing and fly casting and has taken his skills to levels beyond most anglers. It's those very skills that he now enjoys sharing with his friends and clients on his home waters and beyond.

Erik now resides in North Ga. where he has lived for the past 18 years. In this time frame he has fished on, and mastered every major and minor stream or river system in North Ga., North Carolina and Tennessee. When asked how he has mastered all these bodies of water throughout the southeast, he said " I have mastered them all because I don't view them as different. There are no different streams..... in my mind there is only one stream". Some of his friends nicknamed him the Osprey, and for good reasons, this guy doesn't miss. Erik has been guiding clients and hosting trips throughout the U.S. and Canada for the last 10 years and has the distinct pleasure of fishing with such well known names as Lefty Kreh, Flipp Pallot and Jon Cave.

Erik has also mastered the art of fly tying and is well known for his hellgramite pattern, the Hell- Raiser. He has adapted this pattern to work in salt water and now has a great Bonefish and Redfish fly that is called, the Hell- Raisen Shrimp.
