Jon Cave is a freelance writer, photographer and lecturer who has been teaching fly casting and fly tying professionaly since 1975. His fly fishing school is one of the longest established in the United States and the oldest in theSouth. He holds a master's degree in natural resources with special concentration in fisheries and worked more than 15 years as a professional guide on Florida's saltwater flats.His articles and photographs have been featured in many major fly-fishing publications, and he is contributing editor to Fly Fishing in Salt Water. In 1998, the FFF honored him with the prestigious Silver King Award for his contributions to saltwater fly-fishing. He is only the fourth to receive this recognition. Active in conservation issues, Cave is an advisory council member for the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission, past saltwater chairman for the FFF and past executive committee member of theFlorida Conservation Association. Fly -Fishing Odyssey is his first book.
